TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University Field Hockey team plays its final two regular season home games of the 2024 season this weekend. The Tigers host Hofstra in a Coastal Athletic Association matchup on Friday at 3:00 p.m., then take on Lafayette on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
Scouting the Opponents:
- The Hofstra Pride are 3-12 overall and 1-3 in the CAA this season with the conference win coming against William & Mary. The Pride are led by Junior Teresa Karoff who is first on the team with four goals and eleven points this season.
- The Lafayette Leopards are 9-6 overall and currently sit in third place in the Patriot League. The Leopards are coming off an overtime victory over #20 Temple. Lafayette has a balanced attack with three players with five or more goals this season.
Climbing the Ranks:
- Sarah Hatfield scored her sixth goal of the season in the Tigers win over Bellarmine. That pushes her career numbers to 21 goals and 47 points.
- Hatfield now sits 10th in Towson history in points and is tied with Kristie Blumer and Lauren Volk-Hoskins for 7th in Towson history in goals.
Freshman on Fire:
- Freshman forward Anouk Westerink is currently tied for the CAA lead in goals by a freshman with six, she leads all CAA Freshman with 27 shots on goal.
