BALTIMORE, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed day one of the Thomas Murphy Invite. The women are in second place and the men are in third place after the first day of swimming.
Loyola is out in front on the women's side with 976 points, the Tigers are in second with 828, UMBC is in third with 620 points.
Loyola leads on the men's side as well with 1046 points, with UMBC in second with 697, followed by Towson with 665.
Day 1 Finals Highlights:
- The team of Martina Ciriesi, Tiffany Matulis, Riley Willett, and Claire Ryland finished second in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:42.68.
- Addie Scott placed second in the 500-free with a time of 4:55.35, Bridget Thomas (4:59.52) came in fourth.
- Ciriesi (2:03.86) won the 200 IM, with Laura Gaffney (2:07.18) placing third and Britney Denny (2:07.94) coming in fourth.
- Bjartey Gudmundsottir finished third in the 50-free with a time of 23.36.
- Ryland Zuniga, Scott, Sophia Cerimele, and Thomas took first place in the 800-free relay with a time of 7:30.52.
- Anthony Mortellite, Stephen McDonald, Sean Colson, and Luke Schwar placed third in the 800-free relay with a time of 6:49.32.

Day two's action starts tomorrow with preliminary heats at 10:00 a.m. and the finals slated for 6:00 p.m.
