TOWSON, Md. – For the second-straight year,
Carter Runyon is an FCS All-American, earning a 2024
Associated Press FCS All-America Second Team selection.
Runyon is Towson's first multiple-year All-American since Shane Simpson earned All-America recognition in 2016 and 2018. In 2023, Runyon became Towson's first-ever Division I tight end to earn All-America status and the third tight end in Towson history to achieve that feat, being Second Team All-America with the
Associated Press and STATS Perform last year.
This season, Runyon earned All-Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) First Team at tight end with a team-best 45 receptions and five receiving touchdowns in 12 games, totaling 502 yards. In his two years with Towson, the Fairfax, Virginia native tallied up 88 catches for 1,051 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
The All-America team is selected for the
Associated Press by a panel of sports information directors and sportswriters who cover the FCS.
Runyon will be off to the Hula Bowl, one of the top college football all-star games in the country, on Jan. 11 in Orlando, Florida.
