D.C. Field Trip
The Tigers are heading down to Washington D.C. this Friday, February 16 for George Washington's Pink Meet. The Revolutionaries welcome the Tigers as well as New Hampshire, William & Mary and Kent State for a 7 p.m. start.
 
The Revolutionaries hold the Tigers to a 12-0 home streak, making them undefeated in the Charles E. Smith Center against Towson.
 
Tigers > Chiefs
The Black & Gold picked up a Superbowl Sunday victory, placing first at a quad meet with New Hampshire, Brown and Rutgers. The Tigers broke 196 for the first time this season, edging out runner up Rutgers by .100 after posting a season high 196.300. Host team UNH placed third with a 195.875 while Brown came in fourth with a 194.700. This win also marked Towson's second conference win of the season as it was an EAGL designated meet against UNH.
 
The Tigers posted 49's or better on vault (49.225), bars (49.000) and floor (49.325) and picked up six podium finishes. Elise Tisler and Grace Vaillancourt placed first on vault and beam respectively.
 
Career High Tracker
At the UNH quad meet four separate Tigers earned new career highs. Sarah Girot posted a 9.850 on beam for third place while Carmella Calafati earned a 9.900 on floor. Retoshia Halsell received a 9.800 on floor for her second time in the lineup. Elise Tisler logged a 9.925 on vault, which ties Towson's top score on the event this season.
 
Valentines Day Treat
The Tigers received two EAGL weekly awards on February 14. Elise Tisler was honored her second EAGL Specialist of the Week award of the season following her performance at UNH. This marks Towson's third EAGL specialist award of the season. Retoshia Halsell was awarded EAGL Rookie of the Week, sharing the award with an LIU freshman.
 
Scouting the Revolutionaries
Towson last faced George Washington on February 2 at a quad meet in Showcase Arena where GW placed first with a season high 195.175. Since then, the team has competed in a dual meet against LIU, dominating the Sharks 195.575 - 192.450 with a new career high.
 
GW's strongest events this season have proven to be vault and floor where it has consistently scored in the high 48s and 49s. The team has a season high of 49.300 on vault and 49.250 on floor. The Revolutionaries rank 26th in the nation on vault with a 49.013 average. On floor the top four scorers have season bests of 9.9 or above while on vault the top three have highs in the 9.9s. Kendall Whitman ranks in the team's top five on vault (9.9 - 2nd), beam (9.850 - 2nd) and floor (9.925 - 1st). She ranks first in EAGL and 29th nationally on floor with a 9.904 average. Sarah Zois holds the top scores on vault (9.925) and beam (9.9). She ranks fifth on floor with a 9.875. Zois is first in EAGL on vault with a 9.842 average.

Scouting the Wildcats
It has been a short time since Towson last faced New Hampshire as it attended a quad meet hosted by the Wildcats this past Sunday. UNH placed third, posting a season high 195.875. The Wildcats put up the top beam score of the meet, logging a season high 48.950. They also earned a season high 49.300 on floor.
 
Kylie Gorgenyi holds the team's top scores on vault (9.875) and bars (9.900). She ranks fifth on beam (9.775) and second on floor (9.925). Gorgenyi picked up her second consecutive EAGL Gymnast of the Week on February 14. Serena Mullin recently logged the best score in nine years on floor for the 'Cats, posting a career high 9.950 which is the top score in EAGL.

Scouting the Golden Flashes
Kent State comes into this meet with the top ranking out of the five competing teams, checking in at 34th in the nation with a team score average of 195.755. The team was tabbed fourth in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) preseason poll and two athletes (Alyssa Guns and Heidi Schultz) were named to the MAC Gymnasts to Watch List.
 
The Golden Flashes have already had a record-breaking season so far, posting the highest all-around score in program history of 197.725 at the Tennessee Collegiate Classic on January 19. The Flashes also set new program bests on floor (49.675) and bars (49.500) at the meet. Most recently, the team captured a win against Northern Illinois on February 11, posting the second highest score this season of 196.925.
 
The team's most successful event this season has been floor as it ranks 18th nationally and has posted 49s on the event at all five meets. The top four gymnasts on the event have posted scores of 9.925 or better with the top performer, Karlie Franz, logging a perfect 10.0. Franz ranks tied for first in the MAC on the event. For the other events, Nastia Rudnitskaya ranks first on the team on vault (9.9), Sarah Haxton tops bars with a 9.95 and Alyssa Guns has the best beam score of 9.925.

Scouting The Tribe
William & Mary last faced Towson this season at the quad meet at Showcase Arena on February 2. Most recently, the Tribe posted a season high 192.750 at a quad meet with Penn, Bridgeport and Cornell, placing third overall. The team also logged season highs on vault (48.125), bars (48.450) and floor (48.475).
