The Tigers welcome Temple and LIU to TU Arena this Friday, February 23 for the annual George McGinty Alumni meet at 6 p.m.
Champions on the Horizon
This meet will be Towson's final East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) designated meet of the season as Temple and LIU are both in the conference. If the Tigers win the meet, they will be crowned EAGL regular season champions after going undefeated in conference meets for the 2024 campaign.
GW Quint Meet Recap
At the George Washington quint meet on February 16, Towson put up a season high and its best road score in program history 196.600 for a second-place finish behind the Revolutionaries. The Tigers logged 49's on all four events for the first time this season, finding most success on vault where they posted their highest score of the night - 49.275. Each athlete competing in the lineup scored 9.825 or better on the event.
Five athletes made their way on to the podium, two of which were first place finishes from
Isabella Minervini and
Elise Tisler.
Season High Galore
Towson picked up season highs on vault (49.275), bars (49.250) and beam (49.050) at the quint meet on February 16.

Towson has accumulated 30 career highs so far this season. Six were most recently earned last Friday by
Isabella Minervini (bars - 9.975),
Lauren Greene (bars - 9.875),
Retoshia Halsell (vault - 9.850, floor - 9.875),

It's a Weekly Thing
For the third straight week, Towson has earned EAGL weekly honors. On February 21,
Isabella Minervini and
Retoshia Halsell were named Specialist of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively. Minervini, who picked up three EAGL Rookie of the Week honors last year, received her first award of the season. The sophomore picked up her fourth bars victory of the 2024 slate on February 16 after scoring a career high 9.975, receiving a perfect 10.0 from one judge for the first time in her collegiate career. Halsell earned her second consecutive Rookie of the Week honor after posting career highs in both her events at the GW quint meet. She logged a 9.850 on vault and posted Towson's highest floor score, 9.875.
Scouting the Owls
Temple is coming off a quad meet victory against SCSU, Bridgeport and Ursinus, where the Owls scored a 194.875, their second highest score of the season. The team logged a 49.075 on floor for its best rotation of the night led by a first-place finish from Brooke Donabedian, who posted a 9.900.
The last time the Tigers faced the Owls was earlier this season at a dual meet on January 21 where Temple posted a season high 195.900 to place first.
The team's strength comes from floor, where it has logged three scores in the 49's on the event this season.

Scouting the Sharks
LIU's best team score this year has come from the season opener on January 14 against New Hampshire and Bridgeport where the Sharks scored a 195.225 to win the meet.
The Sharks strongest event this season has proven to be beam, where they have posted three 49's and hold an average of 48.835 which ranks second in the conference. The team dominates on the event individually as well, with four athletes holding the top four scores in EAGL. Syd Morris ranks first with a 9.931 average followed by Brisa Carraro (9.825 average), Alana Ricketts (9.800 average) and Cael Bixer (9.795 average).
