TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University gymnastics team fell to University of Maryland, 196.725-196.625, on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers narrowly trailed the Terrapins for the entirety of the meet, remaining within .300 points away throughout all four rotations. Towson outscored Maryland on beam 49.300 – 49.200 and bars 49.300 – 49.225.
Towson's 49.300 on bars and beam was supported by a combined 11 scores of 9.800 or better.
Maryland claimed the top individual spots on vault, bars and beam while Towson secured a first place finish on floor. The Black & Gold also picked up an additional eight podium finishes.

- Sarah Girot posted a huge career high 9.900, making her way onto the podium with a second-place finish.
