TOWSON, Md. – Four Towson softball student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Erin Brown,
Ally Hickman,
Elizabeth Yoskowitz and
Maddie Gardner earned the honors for their efforts on the field and in the classroom.
The quartet will now move to the ballot to be named Academic All-American®, that will be voted on in early June.
Brown led the pitching staff tossing 118.1 innings with 43 strikeouts. In the classroom, Brown had a 3.54 GPA while working toward her degree in communications management.
Fellow pitcher
Maddie Gardner also earned All-District honors after posting a 3.66 GPA, studying accounting. Gardner led the pitching staff with 72 strikeouts with four complete games and two saves.
Ally Hickman and
Elizabeth Yoskowitz earn their second straight All-District honors after earning the award last season. Hickman posted a 3.82 GPA earning her degree in communication studies. On the field, Hickman led the Tigers with five home runs driving in 12 runs.
Yoskowitz posted a 3.85 GPA while working toward her degree in elementary education. Yoskowitz finished the season with a .271 batting average with 32 hits, two doubles and a team-high eight stolen bases.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
