TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's lacrosse team has announced that
Lyndsey Muñoz has joined as an assistant coach today.
"I am excited to welcome Lyndsey Mu
ñoz to our Tiger family," said head coach
Kristen Carr. "Lyndsey will be predominantly working on the defensive end of the field with our goalies and defenders. She was an anchor in between the pipes at Stanford and continues to excel on the Spanish National Team. Lyndsey brings her experience coaching at Ohio State, Johns Hopkins, George Mason and the Spanish National Team."
Muñoz joins Towson after being the head coach of the Spanish National Team. She was in charge of all lacrosse development in Spain, including youth, national teams and coaching development.
She was an assistant coach at George Mason where she ran the defense. Muñoz
assisted with general operations of the program including practice planning, scouting, game strategy, and individual player development for defense and goalies.
She was a goalie consultant at Johns Hopkins in 2021 when Carr was an assistant coach. Muñoz also was a volunteer coach at Ohio State in 2020.
Muñoz has played for the senior Spanish National Team. She played in 2022 World Cup and led the tournament in ground balls and saves while ranking third in save percentage.
As a player at Stanford, Muñoz ranks fourth all-time in program history in saves with 400. She is seventh in goals against average with a 10.58 mark. Muñoz led the Cardinal to three NCAA appearances in her four seasons, including the program's first-ever tournament win over Notre Dame in 2013.
