TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University Field Hockey Team continues its homestand this weekend as it hosts Georgetown on Friday, Sept. 13 at 3:00 p.m., and takes on Queens on Sunday, Sept. 15 at noon. Sunday's game will be streamed on FloLive, live stats will be available on TowsonTigers.com.
Scouting The Opponents:
- Georgetown has begun the season with a 1-2 record, the win coming on the road at Lock Haven. Towson is 19-15-2 in the all-time series between the two teams.
- Queens currently has an 0-4 record on the season, this will be the first ever meeting between Towson and the Royals.
First Impressions:
- The Tigers have received multiple contributions from new players early on this season. Against St. Francis, freshman forward Anouk Westerink scored two goals, fellow freshman Fiene Valkenburg had two assists, and transfer midfielder Kristin Strijdom picked up three assists. Against Wagner, freshman midfielder Olivia Miller picked up her first career assist as well.
Climbing the Ladder:
- Sarah Hatfield's three goals this past weekend move her up to 11th on the all-time Towson Field Hockey goal list and 14th on the all-time point list with 18 goals and 40 points in her career.
Number to note:
- Towson's 5-1 win over St. Francis was the first five goal game for the Tigers since September 18, 2011. That game was a 5-1 victory over Georgetown.
