Towson Men’s Basketball Set to Play St. John’s in Charity Exhibition Game

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team has announced that the Tigers will travel up to New York to play St. John's in a charity exhibition game to promote Autism Speaks. The game will take place on Saturday, October 26th at 12 p.m. in Carnesecca Arena.

All ticket sale proceeds will benefit Autism Speaks, the largest autism advocacy group dedicated to creating an inclusive world for all individuals with autism throughout their life span through support advocacy, advances in care, research and innovation, services and supports, including no-cost resources and tools to address the needs of autistic people from early diagnosis and intervention to transition to adulthood, aging with autism, and beyond.

"We are excited for the opportunity to compete against a top 25 program like St. John's with a hall of fame coach in Coach Pitino.  As we prepare for this season, this exhibition game will help us tremendously. I'm personally grateful that Coach Pitino, his outstanding staff and the St John's athletics staff are supporting Autism Speaks and all the phenomenal work they do," said head coach Pat Skerry.

The Tigers finished the 2023-24 season at 20-14 and 11-7 in the Coastal Atlantic Association (CAA), winning 20-plus games for a school-record third straight season and reaching the CAA Championship semifinals for the third straight year. The Tigers will return 81 percent of the scoring and 80 percent of minutes played from this past season, including reigning CAA Rookie of the Year Tyler Tejada.
