Victoria Barrett has been named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
The Virginian recorded a season-high 23 kills against William & Mary in the conference opener on Saturday night, averaging a dominant 7.67 kills/set. Barrett added a season-high four service aces in the sweep.
The outside hitter followed that performance with 22 kills, averaging 4.40 kills/set, in Sunday's five-set win over the Tribe.
The senior hit at .439 and .306 clips in each of the respective matches, averaging a .367 hitting percentage for the weekend.
Barrett leads the conference with 220 total points, averaging 4.78 points/set. That average is second in the league behind only Tyne Ross of North Carolina A&T with 5.11 points/set.
This is the CAA Preseason Player of the Year's second offensive player of the week award of the early season.
