COCKEYSVILLE, Md. – Former Towson University (then Towson State College) standout John Grubb '70 will be inducted into the Greater Baltimore Lacrosse Foundation (GBLF) Hall of Fame on January 25.
Grubb, who was inducted into the Towson Athletics Hall of Fame in 1988, earned All-America honors in 1969 and was a two-time All-Mason-Dixon Conference honoree at defenseman, being a team captain for the 1970 team which went 11-2 under head coach Carl Runk.
After leaving Towson State, Grubb went on to coaching lacrosse at North Harford High School, including winning 354 games and a pair of state titles there.
Grubb becomes the newest Towson player inducted into the GBLF Hall of Fame. He joins Towson lacrosse standouts/coaches Mary Bartel, Elizabeth Leigh Buck, Jim Darcangelo, Dick Edell, Margaret Faulkner, Bob Griebe, Ruthie Gutridge Lavelle, Barbara Kimball, Carl Runk, Tony Seaman, Rob Shek, Wendell Thomas, and Becky Trumbo-Groves among others.
Grubb is part of the GBLF Hall of Fame Class of 2025 along with Casey Connor, Brian Carroll, Michael Kimmel, Lisa Dixon, Coco Stanwick Brant and Laura Peace Campbell. The induction ceremony will be on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Valley Mansion in Cockeysville.
