TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University swimming & diving teams are hosting the final home event of the season as the Tiger Winter Open takes place at Burdick Pool on January 31 and February 1. Session one begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday with sessions two and three set for 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. respectively on Saturday.
No Team scores will be recorded at the meet. The Tiger Winter Open Serves to finalize the CAA Championships rosters for the Black & Gold. Individual swimmers from other programs may appear at the meet in preparation for their respective conference championships.
Season Recap:
The Towson men's swimming & team is 3-3-1 in dual meets this season with wins over La Salle, Seton Hall and Howard. The Tigers placed second in the Patriot Invite and third in the Thomas Murphy Invite. The Tigers hold CAA best times in three events so far this season.
Stephen McDonald's time of 4:25.44 in the 500 Free,
Sean Colson's 1:42.60 in the 200 Back, and
David Walton's 1:47.13 in the 200 IM.
The Towson Women's Swimming & Diving team is 5-1 in dual meets this season with wins over Old Dominion, La Salle, Seton Hall, Howard and Drexel. They placed second in both the Thomas Murphy Invite and the Patriot Invitational.
Bjartey Gudmundsdottir is second in the CAA in the 50 Free with her season best time of 22.81.
