TOWSON, Md. – Towson University kicker
Caden Williams has been selected as one of 38 players on the 2025 Fred Mitchell Award Midseason Watch List.
The Fred Mitchell Award is given annually to the top place-kicker in FCS, DII, DII, NAIA and NJCAA for excellence on the football field and in the community, according to the award's mission statement.
This is the second straight year where Towson has had an honoree by the Mitchell Award, with
Keegan Vaughan being a preseason watch list honoree in 2024.
Williams, a senior, took over placekicking duties this year along with being the primary kickoff man. So far through eight games, the Allen, Texas native is kicking 83.3% (10-for-12) on field goals, including a 50-yard field goal in the season-opening victory at Norfolk State. He is also a perfect 18-for-18 on extra point attempts.
Through Oct. 25, Williams stands in the top-15 in FCS in field goal percentage and field goals per game.
Towson's road travels continue next week as the Tigers visit North Carolina A&T on Saturday, Nov. 1 at noon.
