Swim & Dive Takes Home Three Weekly Awards

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's & women's swimming and diving teams have won three Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) weekly awards, the CAA announced Tuesday. Addie Scott has been named CAA Women's Diver of the Week, and Shannon Parrau and Sam Tennell are the CAA Women's and Men's Divers of the Week respectively.
 
Addie Scott was the highest scoring Towson women's swimmer in all three dual meets so far and the highest women's scorer overall in two of them as she won seven individual events and four relays. Against LaSalle on September 27, Scott won the 200 free (1:51.26) and 200 back (2:03.03) while swimming in the winning 200 free relay and 200 medley relay teams. This past weekend against Fordham she won the 100 free (51.92) and 100 Back (57.04) and swam in the winning 400 free relay team. Then against Seton Hall Scott won the 100 free, 500 free (5:02.69), and 100 back while leading off the winning medley relay team. Scott currently holds the top time of any CAA women's swimmer in five events.
 
Shannon Parrau has won four of six dive events in Towson's first three dual meets this season. The senior swept the boards against LaSalle on September 27 with a score of 280.80 in the 1 meter and 279.90 in the 3 meter dive. This past weekend Parrau took second on both boards against Fordham with scores of 300 in the 1 meter dive and 308.40 in the 3 meter dive before winning both events against Seton Hall scoring 296.47 in the 1meter dive and 301.87 in the 3 meter dive.
 
Sam Tennell began his senior season sweeping the boards against LaSalle on September 27 with scores of 314.40 in the 1 meter and 304.95 in the 3 meter dive. Then this past weekend he placed second in both events against Fordham with a 1 meter score of 308.70 and a 3 meter score of 338.78. He again took second on both boards against Seton Hall with a score of 293.17 in the 1 meter and 336.30 in the 3 meter dive. Tennell has broken 300 points in five of six events so far this season.
 
The Tigers are back in action October 24-26 for the Thomas Murphy Invite hosted by Loyola.
