Towson got the ball on offense and used long passes to Lukkas Londono and Sam Reynolds to get into the red zone. From there, the rushers took over, with Kemarrion Battles finishing the drive with an 11-yard touchdown, putting Towson ahead 7-6 in the opening three minutes.
- Early on the next drive, a couple of runs brought UAlbany forward, then sacks by Ja'Mez Drummer and JR Stegall pushed them back. UAlbany's punt put Towson on its own 38. Andrew Indorf again came down field, this time with short passes and a couple of runs. Winston Watkins also entered to run and helped convert a couple of third downs. Pushing downfield, Kahseim Phillips finished the drive on a two-yard run up the gut to give Towson a 14-6 lead with 2:17 left in the first.
- Again, Towson's defense bent but did not break and held around midfield, forcing a punt after the end of the first quarter. Towson began the drive with a 23-yard out pass to Zay Perkins to get towards midfield but was stopped from there and punted.
- UAlbany started a strong drive on passes to the flat and runs up the middle, but Kaden White ended it by ripping the ball away from Jojo Uga and recovering himself on midfield. Using the short field, Indorf got a 13-yard run and drew a roughing the passer penalty. Caden Williams knocked down the 31-yard field goal attempt to make it 17-6 Towson with 6:17 left in the 2nd.

- A dropoff pass to Reynolds again got Towson moving to midfield, but UAlbany's pressure at the line kept the Tigers from moving forward and a punt was forced. Towson pinned UAlbany on its own six and held after one new set of downs, getting the ball back via punt on the Towson 35. Towson gave back the ball after a three-and-out, but got it back after Zakaa Brown intercepted a deep pass on the Towson 38.
