TOWSON, Md. – Towson University quarterback
Andrew Indorf has been named a finalist for the 2025 Jerry Rice Award, announced by STATS Perform on Monday.
This solidifies Indorf's place as one of the top-25 freshmen in FCS. Indorf is one of 25 players to be named a finalist, including one of three Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) players.
Indorf is the first Towson player to be a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award since linebacker Mason Woods was in 2022. Former Tigers Terrance West in 2011 and Shane Simpson in 2016 were also finalists, with West winning the inaugural award in 2011.
The Jerry Rice Award is given to the top freshman (or redshirt freshman) in FCS competition. It is named after National Football League Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, who was a standout at FCS school Mississippi Valley State.
Indorf was Towson's starting quarterback in all 12 games this season, throwing 59.6% for 2,344 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions. The true freshman's 16 passing touchdowns are the most for a Towson quarterback in a single season since Tom Flacco passed for 22 touchdowns in 2019. He had four games with multiple passing touchdowns, including finishing the year with four passing touchdowns in the win vs. Campbell on Saturday.
Towson finished the year with a 35-31 comeback win vs. Campbell on Saturday, earning its sixth .500 or better CAA year in the last seven fall seasons.
