BOSTON – The Towson University women's basketball team faced Northeastern Stony Brook in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play Friday evening. The Tigers (9-16, 7-7 CAA) topped the Huskies (2-21, 1-13 CAA) 67-51 at the Cabot Center in Boston.
India Johnston led the field with 21 points.
Deja Bristol had 12 points and six rebounds in her first game back at the Cabot Center since transferring from Northeastern.

How it Happened
- The Tigers began the game with made shots from Khady Leye and Semaya Turner to get out to a four-point lead through the first minute and a half.
- Anasia Staton's step-back jumper with 2:36 remaining in the quarter made it an 11-7 Tiger lead.
- Deja Bristol hit the final two shots of the quarter for the Tigers to make it a 15-9 lead at the first break.
- Anaiah Jenkins hit the first two baskets of the second quarter for the Tigers, with the second making it a 19-13 game with 7:04 left in the half.
- Shariah Baynes, Staton and Bristol scored the Tigers' final baskets of the second half. The Huskies closed the half on a 14-7 run to take a 27-26 lead into the half.
- Johnston hit the Tigers' firs three shots of the second half, giving Towson a 33-27 lead with 6:28 left in the third.
- The Huskies closed the quarter with a 12-10 edge to cut Towson's lead to 43-39 at the end of the third quarter.
- Johnston, Shariah Baynes and Turner each hit shots to open the fourth quarter, stretching the Towson lead to 51-39.
- Johnston and Staton were perfect from the line on three trips to extend Towson's lead to 11 with 2:48 left in regulation.
