TOWSON, Md. –  The Towson University women's basketball team hosted Hampton in the first Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) rematch of the season on Friday evening. The Tigers (6-15, 4-6 CAA) won every quarter, leading to a decisive 70-54 win over the Pirates (5-16, 1-9 CAA) at TU Arena.
 
Anasia Staton finished one point shy of her season-high 19 from her first game back from injury against Columbia. Khady Leye finished one rebound short of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

• Leye dropped the first two Tiger buckets of the game before India Johnston had the Tigers' next seven points.
• Staton hit a jumper in the paint with one second on the clock to take a 13-11 lead.
• Staton started the second quarter where she left off in the first, scoring the next five points for the Tigers to push it to a seven-point lead.
• Down 21-13, the Pirates scored seven-straight to pull within a point with 5:21 remaining in the half.
• The Tigers closed the quarter on a 10-7 run to take a 31-27 lead into the halftime break.
• Towson scored six-straight points out of the break to push the lead back to ten at 37-27.
• Deja Bristol had four, Shariah Baynes had three, Staton had three, Kayla Morris had two, and Semaya Turner had one to close the quarter with a 50-38 lead.
• Turner was hot in the fourth, scoring the Tigers' first ten points of the quarter.
• The Tigers closed the game on a 10-6 run over the final 3:24 to win, 70-54.
