TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's basketball team hosted Elon in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers (6-16, 4-7 CAA) held a two-point lead with just over two minutes remaining before a Phoenix (12-9, 6-4 CAA) three surrendered the lead. Towson was forced to foul and fell, 45-41, at TU Arena.
Khady Leye led the Tigers with 10 points and finished second with eight rebounds.
Semaya Turner led the team with 10 rebounds.

- Leye, Deja Bristol and Anasia Staton each scored a jumper in the final minutes to make it an 11-8 deficit after the first quarter.
- Kayla Morris led the Tigers with five points in the second quarter. Leye had four and Staton had two to tie the game at 19 at the halftime break.
- After the Phoenix took a two-point lead with 7:40 left in the third quarter, the Tigers scored six straight from Turner, India Johnston and Bristol to take a four-point lead.
- Elon closed the quarter on an 8-6 advantage, to cut the Tiger lead to 33-31.
- The Phoenix scored the first four points of the fourth quarter to retake the lead at 35-33.
- Back-to-back baskets from Johnston and Leye allowed the Tigers to retake the lead at 36-35.
- An Angel layup gave the Phoenix the lead once again before Leye responded with a layup of her own to give the Tigers a one-point edge.
- The Phoenix hit their first three of the game with 1:32 remaining to take a 40-39 lead.
- A Phoenix layup followed by a free throw on their next possession pushed the lead to 43-39.
- Fouled on a three, Johnston hit the first and third to cut the deficit back to two.
- Elon hit another pair of free throws on their next trip to the line to secure the 45-41 victory at TU Arena.
