TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University gymnastics team returned home and delivered its highest scoring of the season, notching a 195.575 to win the George McGinty Alumni Meet on Saturday night.
Towson defeated Illinois State (194.675), which was ranked No. 34 in the Road to Nationals standings, Bowling Green (191.575) and William & Mary (190.650).
Isabella Minervini earned the all-around title with a 39.275 score while
Chelsey Dennis won the uneven bars with the only 9.9 score on the event.
How it Happened for Towson (in Rotation Order)
- Vault – 48.750
- Towson started off on the vault and improved on each routine through the opening five. Ava Harper went third and notched a 9.700, the fifth time this year with at least a 9.7.
- Polina Belanovski earned a 9.800, then Isabella Minervini notched a career-best 9.850.
- Bars – 49.225
- Beam – 48.900
- Floor – 48.700
Inside the Numbers
- Isabella Minervini has won the all-around competition twice in three competitions. Her 39.275 is tied for 10th all-time in Towson history in the all-around.
- Chelsey Dennis wins the uneven bars event for the second time this year, also winning on Jan. 11.
- 49.225 is the highest bars score of the season, surpassing the 49.200 on Jan. 17.

- Towson gets set for another quad-meet on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. in New Haven, Connecticut. Towson takes on Yale, Brown and New Hampshire.
