WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Towson University women's basketball team faced Elon in the second round of the Credit Union 1 CAA Women's Basketball Championship at CareFirst Arena in Washington, D.C.
India Johnston led the Tigers (12-19, 8-10 CAA) with a career-high tying 24 points, including 15 in the second half, to secure a 53-47 win over Elon (15-15, 9-9 CAA)

- Aminata Diakite hit shots on back-to-back possessions in the beginning of the second quarter. Anasia Staton's layup to follow pushed Towson's lead to nine at 23-14.
- The Phoenix closed the gap in the final minutes of the half to make it a 27-27 game at the break.
- Elon hit the first to baskets coming out of the half before six-straight Tiger points gave TU a two-point lead.
- Johnston's three with 19 seconds on the clock broke the tie to make it a 36-33 game heading into the final quarter.
- The Tigers started the fourth quarter on a 10-6 run over the first four minutes, pushing their lead to seven.
