Tyler Tejada was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-East District Second Team. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.
Tejada was the first Towson player to be named CAA Player of the Year since Jerrelle Benimon won the award in 2013 & 2014. The Teaneck, N.J. native ranks sixth in the conference in scoring with 16. 7 points per game, shooting 43.1% from the floor, which is the ninth-highest mark in the conference. The sophomore guard/forward is the first sophomore to win CAA Player of the Year since 1999 when George Mason's George Evans won the honor. Tejada finished in double figures in 25 of the 27 games he played, including all 18 CAA games. He has scored 20 or more points in eight games this season, including a career-best 30 points against Robert Morris. Tejada also grabbed 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting 82.4% from the free throw line.
