Towson Athletics and the Tiger Athletic Fund are proud to announce the creation of the Student-Athlete Resource Fund, a transformative new initiative aimed at empowering Towson University's student-athletes. This fund will provide critical support through scholarships and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities, ensuring that TU can continue to compete at the highest level of college athletics.
The new Student-Athlete Resource Fund is designed to help Towson Athletics stay competitive in a rapidly evolving college sports landscape. By attracting and retaining top talent, this fund plays a key role in ensuring the success of TU's student-athletes across all sports.
"The Student-Athlete Resource Fund is a vital component to keep Towson Athletics competitive in today's collegiate athletics environment," said Dr. Steve Eigenbrot, Athletics Director at Towson University. "As the landscape of college sports continues to change, having the ability to offer additional resources to our student-athletes is critical for the success of our department."
The Student-Athlete Resource Fund will be a key priority within the Tiger Athletic Fund, the organization responsible for raising over $1 million annually to support the most critical needs of Towson Athletics. This includes scholarships, capital projects, sport-specific program needs, and more.
"This fund is a game-changer for our program," said Head Men's Basketball Coach, Pat Skerry. "It will directly help us retain top talent, as we've already seen with players like Tyler Tejada and Dylan Williamson, as well as attracting new student-athletes to our program. It's crucial for our success in the CAA."
Donations to the Student-Athlete Resource Fund are tax-deductible and will have an immediate impact on Towson's student-athletes, providing them with the resources necessary to thrive both on the field and in the classroom.
Last month, the Tiger Athletic Fund launched a $100K Match Campaign thanks to a generous donor who is passionate about supporting Towson's NIL efforts. This match campaign—running through TU Big Give on April 23, 2025—will double the impact of every gift, unlocking an additional $100,000 when the first $100,000 is raised. The donor understands it takes each alum, each friend of the university, to come together to achieve great things.
