TOWSON, Md. – As the Towson University men's lacrosse team prepares for the NCAA Tournament, three Tigers have been recognized as USA Lacrosse All-Americans, announced by USA Lacrosse Magazine on Thursday.
Mikey Weisshaar is a Third Team All-American at attack while each
Chop Gallagher and
Joe Petro are honorable mention All-Americans at midfield and defense respectively.
This is the second straight year where Weisshaar is a USA Lacrosse Third Team All-American. Gallagher and Petro earn their first-ever All-America honor. All three were 2025 First Team All-Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) selections.
The 2025 USA Lacrosse All-America list is selected by USA Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors.
Weisshaar moved from midfield to attack during the season and is Towson's leader in goals with 46 and assists with 22. The junior is eighth in DI in goals per game and 12
th in points per game, having nine games with at least five points this year.
Gallagher has started all 16 games on the first midfield line, tallying up 19 goals, 20 assists and 13 ground balls. The graduate student led Towson in assists for most of the season and has eight games with at least three points scored.
Petro is the only Towson defenseman who has started all 16 games, leading the Tigers with 25 caused turnovers and adding 48 ground balls. The senior has at least one caused turnover in 13 of his last 14 games, including five 3+ caused turnover games.
Towson heads to New Jersey this weekend for its NCAA Tournament First Round game at Princeton on Saturday, May 10 at 2:30 p.m.
