Towson Athletics Officially Launches Student-Athlete Resource Fund

Towson Athletics and the Tiger Athletic Fund are proud to announce the launch of the Student-Athlete Resource Fund, available as of July 1, 2025, to support the revenue-sharing efforts of Towson Athletics.

This fund was created in collaboration with the Towson University Foundation in response to the recent "House Settlement," which allows universities to opt into new roster management, scholarship, and revenue-sharing models for student-athletes.

The Student-Athlete Resource Fund is designed to empower Towson student-athletes through enhanced scholarship support and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities, ensuring TU remains competitive at the highest levels of collegiate athletics.

"The Student-Athlete Resource Fund is a vital component to keeping Towson Athletics competitive in today's evolving collegiate landscape," said Director of Athletics Dr. Steve Eigenbrot. "As the environment changes, providing additional resources to our student-athletes is critical to our department's success."

As the Tiger Athletic Fund begins Fiscal Year 2026, a key priority will be securing support from donors who are committed to maintaining TU's competitiveness in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) and across the NCAA. Each year, the Tiger Athletic Fund raises over $1 million from 2,500 donors and is currently in the midst of the Campaign for Excellence, a $12 million capital initiative to improve the Field House and Towson Center Gym.

"This fund is a game-changer for our program," said Head Men's Basketball Coach Pat Skerry. "It will directly help us retain top talent and attract new student-athletes."

At the fund's launch this spring, a generous donor contributed $100,000 and pledged an additional $100,000 if supporters raise a matching $100,000. To date, $45,000 has been raised toward that goal, with the aim of reaching the full match by the start of basketball season.

All donations to the Student-Athlete Resource Fund are tax-deductible and will have an immediate impact, supporting TU student-athletes on the field, in the classroom, and beyond.
