Jons Competes at 2025 USATF Championship Trials

TOWSON, Md. - Towson University track & field alum and current student assistant coach Piper Jons competed in the 2025 USATF Championship Trials this past weekend, held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Jons opened competition on Friday in the 400m semifinals and returned to the track Sunday for the 200m semifinals, racing among the top athletes in the nation.

Jons donned Black & Gold for the 2024-25 indoor season after transferring from Elon University. Within a year, Jons has secured a spot in the program's top 10 all-time rankings for six events and set school records in the 200m, 400m, 600m, and 4x400m relay. She made history at the 2025 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Indoor Championships, breaking both the Towson and CAA records in the 200m and 400m and was recognized as the Most Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet. In January, she was recognized as the CAA Track Athlete of the Week after setting two Towson records and earning national rankings in three events. In April, Jons was recognized as the CAA Track Athlete of the Year for the indoor season.

This fall, Jons will return to Towson as a student-assistant coach for the track & field program.
