TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team is set for its first road trip of the season as the Tigers visit James Madison on Friday, September 10 at 5 p.m. before heading to Charlotte to take on Queens at 11 a.m. on Sunday, September 14.
 
Scouting the Opponents:

• The James Madison Dukes are off to a 3-2 start in 2025 and are coming into Friday's game off back-to-back wins over Richmond and American. The 2024 Mid-American Conference runner-up's have been paced in points so far by senior forward Alice Roeper and senior midfielder Skyler Brown, who are both averaging over a point a game through five games this season.
• The Queens Royals are 0-3 to begin the 2025 season after most recently falling to Appalachian State. The independent program returns two of its top three point scorers from last season in senior midfielder Sydney Smith and sophomore forward Delfina Gonzalez Fontan. Royals' goalkeeper Madison Destefano is averaging ten saves per game so far this season.

 
Tigers Being Recognized:

• Two Towson players were recognized for their play in Towson's victories over Lock Haven and Sacred Heart last weekend. Tessa Scheenstra was named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
• Anouk Westerink's goal against Sacred Heart was recognized as one of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) plays of the week.

 
First of Many:

• Dakotah Trader scored her first two goals as a Towson player in the Tigers 5-1 win over Lock Haven.
• Also against the Bald Eagles, Bailey Masten scored her first collegiate goal and Rosemarie Staal scored her first Towson goal.
