TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team plays its first Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) game of the season when it hosts Northeastern on Friday, September 27 at 4 p.m.
Scouting the Opponent:
The Northeastern Huskies are currently 4-3 on the season with their most recent win being a 2-1 overtime victory over Maine. Northeastern ended the 2024 season with a 5-1 CAA record and were the two-seed entering the 2024 CAA Championships. The Huskies are led so far in 2025 by freshman Jessica Garden who leads the team with six points and is tied for team highs with two goals and two assists. Junior Alex Mega currently has five points on the year after finishing both her first two years with the Huskies with at least 14 points. Goalkeeper Arabella Loveridge currently holds a .745 save percentage and averages over five saves per game.

Ella Kaufman's goal in Friday's game vs VCU was selected as one of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) plays of the week. This is the second time Towson has featured in the plays of the week this season after
Anouk Westerink's goal against Sacred Heart was chosen after the second weekend of the season.
Friday's game will be the annual Own Your Roar Game. The Own Your Roar Game aims to raise awareness around mental health issues.
