TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team plays the final two games of its four game homestand to start the season. The Tigers welcome Lock Haven to TU Field Hockey Complex at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 5, before hosting Sacred Heart on Sunday, August 7 at noon.
 
At Friday's game vs Lock Haven, Towson field hockey will be holding a food drive in partnership with The Basic Needs Hub and TU FoodShare to fight food insecurity among Towson students and staff. All attending fans are invited to bring food from the TU FoodShare most needed items list, and all fans are invited to donate to the Student Emergency and Food Insecurity Fund.
 
Scouting the Opponents:
The Lock Haven Bald Eagles began the season with an 0-2 road trip dropping games to Syracuse and Colgate. Lock Haven's attack was spearheaded by junior Melanie Beall who scored twice against Colgate after scoring five goals for the Bald Eagles last season which tied her for the team lead.
 
The Sacred Heart Pioneers also come into week two with an 0-2 record after losing 2-1 to Bucknell and 2-0 at Hofstra. Senior back Lizzie Mendrzycki scored her first Sacred Heart goal last week. The Pioneers also feature senior Ines Braithwaite, who tied for the team lead in goals last season.
 
Week One Notes:
Junior Forward Arden Hunteman transferred to Towson this offseason after leading Salisbury in goals the previous two seasons. In her first two games with the Tigers the Annapolis, Maryland native has already notched her first Towson goal and assist.
 
In the Tiger's game vs Davidson on Sunday, senior Forward Tatum Dobbins scored her first career goal.
