WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Towson University gymnastics team took care of business by tying its second-best team score of the season, earning a tri-meet victory at West Chester with a final score of 195.325.
Towson earned wins vs. visiting Ursinus at 191.950 and host West Chester at 191.575.
Towson had the top score in all four events, highlighted by a 49.175 on floor. Towson individual student-athletes also earned the top score in each individual event and all-around.
Isabella Minervini won the all-around with a 39.300 score, taking or tying for first in three events: floor with 9.900 (tied), bars with 9.850 and beam with 9.800.
Jocelyn Lannon took first in the vault at 9.850.
How it Happened for Towson (in Rotation Order)
- Beam (rotation one) – 48.800
- Needing to recover early from a fall, Towson saw strong routines including Natalie Lindgren notching a 9.725.
- Towson's final three were strong to wipe out the fall. Isabella Minervini took the team high at 9.850, proceeded by Celia Trotter with a 9.750 and Brissa Portillo, returning to the rotation, with a 9.800.
- Floor (rotation two) – 49.175
- Towson got off to strong start on the floor. Kaitlin Chancey, in her first competition as part of the rotation, earning a 9.800 on the second spot. Carmella Calafati followed with a 9.875, her season-high.
- The strong scores continued with Isabella DeCroo for a 9.800, Isabella Minervini tying a career-high 9.900 and Adriana Hoffman finishing with a 9.800.
- Vault (rotation three) – 48.950
- Reese Toland got off to a strong start with a 9.775, then on the second spot, Jocelyn Lannon earned a career-high 9.850.
- The next three athletes earned at least a 9.75+, led by Isabella DeCroo earning a 9.800 on the fifth spot.
- Bars (rotation four) – 48.400
Inside the Numbers
- Isabella Minervini has finished first in the all-around in all six meets Towson has competed in this season. This is her first floor exercise victory of the year.
- Jocelyn Lannon earned her first-ever podium finish in her vault victory.
- Towson was just .075 away from its top team score of the season.
