TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's basketball team hosted Stony Brook in the Tigers' penultimate game of the season at SECU Arena.
 
Stony Brook (15-12, 10-4 CAA) built an ten-point lead after one over Towson (15-12, 8-7 CAA). The Tiger offense came alive in the second as they outscored the Seawolves by 12 to claim the halftime lead. Towson staved off the Seawolves in the second half, led by India Johnston's 25 on the day, and went on to win 73-68.

How it Happened

• After Semaya Turner hit the opening bucket of the game, Stony Brook scored eight unanswered to claim the lead.
• The Seawolves finished the quarter on a 13-9 run, giving them a 21-11 lead after one.
• The Tigers outscored Stony Brook by 12 points in the second to take the lead at the halftime break. Five Tigers scored at least three points in the quarter: Johnston (5), Kayla Morris (5), Turner (4), Zoli Khalil (3) and Tilda Sjökvist (3).
• Thalia Shepard's second make of the third quarter put Towson up 43-37 with 6:05 left in the third.
• Johnston hit a three up six before Viki Matulevicius' fast-break layup, pushing the Tiger lead to 11.
• The Seawolves scored seven unanswered to close the quarter, pulling them back within four.
• Stony Brook scored six-straight points to begin the fourth, giving the Seawolves a 58-56 lead.
• Johnston, Shepard and Khalil combined for the next six points of the game, giving a two-point lead back to the Tigers.

• Johnston climbed to 11^th all-time among Towson's career points leaders with 1,176 points. She needs 32 points to crack the top ten.
• Turner finished with 10 points, marking her second game this season hitting double figures.
• Sjökvist was 3-4 from deep in the game. Her three made threes are the most in a game since Jan. 11 vs. UNCW.
