TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be in action in two locations this week as select swimmers will be competing at the Cavalier Invite hosted by the University of Virginia from Thursday, February 5 until Saturday, February 7. While the Tiger divers will be hosting the Towson Diving Invite on Saturday as well. These are Towson's final events before the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championships at the end of the month.
Towson will be sending eleven swimmers to Charlottesville including
Riley Langan from the women's team and
Teddy Ament,
Christian Johnson,
Jackson Cummins,
Owen Cromer,
Ian Lee,
Julian Najarro,
Owen Cather,
Hugo Haggard,
Jake Wade, and
Ian Hewett from the men's squad. On all three day's prelims will begin at 10 a.m. followed by finals heats at 5 p.m.
The Towson Diving Invite will be held at Burdick Pool on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. The Tigers will host Drexel, UMBC and Loyola for the meet.

The Season So Far:
The Tigers earned season opening victories over LaSalle with the women's team winning 214-86 and the men's team taking a 212-88 win. Divers
Shannon Parrau and
Sam Tennell swept the boards, and the Tigers won all four relays.
Sean Colson and debuting transfers
Jed Garner and
Christian Davidson all won multiple individual events for the men while
Riley Willett and
Addie Scott did the same for the women.
The next week Towson hit the road for a pair of dual meets where both teams had 1-1 weekends. The men got a 185-115 win over Fordham on Friday, October 3 before the women took down Seton Hall 207-92 on Saturday, October 4.
Addie Scott went undefeated in five individual events on the weekend while
Madison Neal was a victor on both days in the 200 back. Garner was the highest scorer for the men in both meets and Colson was unbeaten in both backstroke heats.
Towson was next in action at the Thomas Murphy Invite hosted by Loyola where both the men's and women's teams earned second place finishes. Parrau was named the Female Diver of the Meet after sweeping the boards and setting a meet record in the 3-meter dive, and Garner set a pool record in the 200 breast. Meet records were also set in the 1650 free by Davidson and in the 200 free by Scott.
The Tigers then entered the Patriot Invitational where the men's team earned the first Towson Championship of the season behind three individual wins by
Jed Garner and school 100 and 200 backstroke record swims from
Sean Colson. The 200 and 400 medley relay teams also set pool records. The women's team took second place as
Addie Scott set a meet record in the 200 free and the 800 free relay also set a meet record.
Four Towson swimmers competed at the Toyota U.S. Open where Garner made the B finals in the 50 breast, 100 breast and 200 breast. Garner also set a new Towson record in the long course 200 breast. The men's and women's diving teams entered the Retriever Diving Invite hosted by UMBC.

The Tigers closed out 2025 with a pair of dual meets first taking on James Madison in a women's dual meet, Scott won two individual events, and the Towson 200 free relay team broke a tie score on the final event to win the meet 153.5-144.5. The next day both teams were in action against George Mason and the Tigers completed a sweep of the Patriots behind three individual events wins from Willett and Scott for the women and Colson and Garner for the men.
The new year began with a home men's dual meet against Navy. Despite
Aidan Clark and
Sam Tennell sweeping the boards and
Christian Davidson taking the 1000 free, the Tiger men fell to the Midshipmen.
Towson next visited Howard for a dual meet on January 14, where the Tigers swept the relays and the boards helping both teams defeat the Bison. They then returned home on January 16 to host a dual meet against George Washington which saw the women's teams come to a 150 all draw while the men's team came up short 168-131 against the Revolutionaries.
The final road dual meet and only CAA dual meet of the season was up next as Towson visited Drexel on January 24. A competitive meet saw the Tigers sweep the diving boards and set four new pool records. But the Tigers lost to the Dragons with scores of 147-154 on the women's side and 124.5-176.5 for the men.
Next up for Towson was senior day and the final home dual meet of the season against UMBC. Both teams earned comfortable victories with the men's team winning 204-96 and the women's team completing the sweep by a score of 193-107.
Towson Award Winners:
The first round of CAA weekly awards saw three Tigers honored as
Addie Scott was named CAA Women's Swimmer of the Week,
Sam Tennell earned the CAA Men's Diver of the Week award and
Shannon Parrau claimed CAA Women's Diver of the Week.
Week four saw the Tigers sweep the weekly conference honors as
Jed Garner was named CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week while Scott (CAA Women's Swimmer of the Week), Parrau (CAA Women's Diver of the Week), and Tennell (CAA Men's Diver of the Week) each earned their second weekly award of the season.
Purrau (CAA Women's Diver of the Week) and Garner (CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week) were weekly award winners in week eight marking Garner's second win and Purrau's third.
Towson won all four conference weekly awards for the second time in week ten as Purrau won CAA Women's Diver of the Week number four, and Scott received her third CAA Women's Swimmer of the Week honor.
Sean Colson (CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week) and
Aidan Clark (CAA Men's Diver of the Week) each earned their first weekly awards of the season.
Week twelve saw Towson take both diving awards for the fourth time this season as Purrau (CAA Women's Diver of the Week) received her fifth weekly honor of the season and Tennell (CAA Men's Diver of the Week) earned his third.
Week thirteen saw the Parrau and Tennell repeat as the divers of the week after their performances in the Tigers dual meet at Drexel. Both lead the CAA in weekly awards won with Parrau at six and Tennell at four.
Week fourteen was the third week in a row that Parrau and Tennell earned the diver of the week awards after their performances against UMBC. This made it seven weekly awards for Parrau and five for Tennell.
The Season Ahead:
The Towson men enter the season off a 4
th place finish in the 2025 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championships. The Tiger's top returners include senior
Sean Colson, who won gold, silver, and bronze medals at the conference championships last season; and sophomore
Anthony Mortellite who was a CAA Swimmer of the Week and CAA Rookie of the Month as a freshman. Towson also brings back a 2024 CAA Diver of the Week in
Aidan Clark as well as juniors
Stephen McDonald and
Benjamin Eischeid, sophomore
Geoffrey Cradock, and Seniors
Daniel McLaughlin and
David Walton who all posted top 10 times in school history in their respective events this past season.
The Tiger women head into the new season after placing 5
th at the CAA Championships in March. The top returners are highlighted by senior diver
Shannon Parrau who won silver on both boards at the conference championships and was a three-time CAA Diver of the Week. Towson also brings back sophomore
Bjartey Gudmundsdottir and junior
Riley Willett who were members of the 200 free relay team that won silver at CAAs and set a new Towson record in the event. Willett also broke the school record in the 100 IM last season while Gudmundsdottir swam the second fasted 50 free in school history.
