Towson Gymnastics Earns EAGL Meet Victory vs. LIU

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University gymnastics team returned to SECU Arena and earned a win in East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) competition, defeating LIU 194.725-193.475 on Saturday afternoon.
 
Towson won all four events as a team and individuals plus the all-around in the team's second home meet of the year.  Isabella Minervini led the way with the top score on all-around (39.075), bars (9.825) and vault (9.825), tying the vault with Isabella DeCrooAdriana Hoffman had the top score of the meet with a 9.875 on floor.
 
How it Happened for Towson (in Rotation Order)
  • Vault (rotation one) – 48.875
    • Towson mixed up its rotation here, going with a veteran and rookie in succession through the six.  After a pair of 9.750s, Isabella DeCroo hit her 9.825, her highest score of the season.
    • The Tigers had another couple of 9.725s, with Isabella Minervini matching DeCroo's 9.825 on the fifth spot.
  • Bars (rotation two) – 48.475
    • On the second and third spots, Hayden Gough and Lauren Greene stuck their landings to each earn a 9.750.
    • Needing to make up a sub-9 score, Towson saw anchor Isabella Minervini get that score off the board with a 9.825 to finish.
  • Beam (rotation three) – 48.450
    • With a couple of 9.6+ scores in the first three spots, Towson looked to finish strong.  Natalie Lindgren got that started with a 9.700.
    • Following a 9.675, Celia Trotter won the beam with a 9.800.
  • Floor (rotation four) – 48.925
Inside the Numbers
  • Isabella Minervini wins the all-around for the fifth time in as many meets this season.
  • Natalie Lindgren becomes the first Towson freshman to compete in the all-around since Clara Hong in 2022.  She finished with a 37.975, highlighted by her 9.700 on beam.
  • Celia Trotter wins beam for the third time this year and Adriana Hoffman earned her first floor first-place finish of the year.
  • Towson is undefeated all-time vs. LIU, being 11-0-1 against the Sharks since 2021.
Next Meet
  • Towson heads north to the Greater Philadelphia area for the next two meets, beginning with a tri-meet at West Chester and vs. Ursinus on Friday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.
