TOWSON, Md. – The first hat trick of his young career earned Towson University's
Trevor Phipps Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, announced by the league on Monday.
Phipps earns his first-ever CAA weekly honor. Towson has had the CAA Rookie of the Week the last two weeks, with
Will Schoonmaker achieving that feat on March 16.
The Tigers rallied to defeat Stony Brook 13-10 on Saturday to win the CAA opener. It is the third straight victory for the Tigers.
Phipps, a freshman from Edgewater, Maryland, earned a hat trick in the victory on Saturday, including two goals in the second half, adding a pair of ground balls. On the season, the first midfield starter has seven goals, two assists and 13 ground balls.
Towson will be back home for the first time in over a month when the Tigers take on Drexel on Saturday, March 28 at 3 p.m. Tickets for the game are available here:
