TOWSON, Md. – Towson University baseball alum
Nate Nabholz '25 will be joining the San Francisco Giants minor league system, announced by the team on Thursday.
Nabholz spent the last two seasons with the Tri-City ValleyCats in Albany, New York in the independent-Frontier League. In 11 games of relief for Tri-City in 2026, Nabholz had a 3.86 ERA in 18.2 innings, having a win, three saves and 22 strikeouts. His two combined years with the ValleyCats, Nabholz finished with a 3.08 ERA in 49.2 innings, striking out 52.
After transferring to Towson from East Carolina, Nabholz pitched four years for Towson, appearing in 57 games with 158 strikeouts in 169 innings pitched, earning Second Team All-Coastal Athletic Association as a senior. He finished with a 3.46 ERA in 2023 and a 3.05 ERA in 2025, each as a reliever.
Nabholz has currently been assigned to the San Jose Giants, the team's single-A affiliate, in California. (updated from story's original publishing)
