TOWSON, Md. – Towson University athletics continues to shine in community service with 10,033 community service hours and 100% student-athlete participation.

The total economic impact of the community service was $362,000 across 3,596 commitments attended.

"Community engagement is a core element of the student-athlete experience here at Towson University. Our student-athletes continue to demonstrate that leadership extends far beyond competition. We, the athletics department, are incredibly proud of the impact they have made, and these national recognitions are a testament to their dedication to serving others," Director of Student-Athlete Experience/ADID Dahne Brown-Boyer said.

The large student-athlete participation led to superlative outcomes highlight by Christian Johnson of Men's Swimming and Diving who finished top three nationally among male student-athletes. Nine of Towson's teams finished in the top 10 nationally among their sport with Men's Lacrosse (1^st), Women's Soccer (2^nd), Women's Gymnastics (3^rd), Women's Volleyball (3^rd), Men's Basketball (5^th), Women's Field Hockey (6^th), Men's Swimming and Diving (7^th), Baseball (8^th) and Football (9^th).

Towson University is proud to work with Special Olympics Maryland, Baltimore County Public Schools, Autism Speaks, Cool Kids, Maryland Food Bank, Weekend Backpack and Brigance Brigade Foundation.
