SPARKS, Md. – Towson University alum Mikey Weisshaar is set to represent Team USA in the 2026 Pan-American Men's Lacrosse Championship later this month, announced by USA Lacrosse on Wednesday.
 
The 2026 Pan-American Championship, being played from Aug. 16-23 in Kingston, Jamaica, will be a qualifier for the upcoming 2027 World Lacrosse Men's Championship in Japan in June.  The top five teams in this event earn spots for the world championship next year.
 
Weisshaar will play for the first time on the U.S. Men's National Field Team after training with the U.S. Men's Sixes Roster last year.  Since leaving Towson, Weisshaar, the second overall pick in the 2026 Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) Draft, leads the Boston Cannons midfield with 17 goals, adding 13 ground balls.
 
Weisshaar becomes the seventh Towson Tiger ever to compete with the U.S. Men's National Field Team.  Zach Goodrich was an SSDM for the 2023 team that won the gold medal in the world championship in San Diego.
 
The two-time CAA Offensive Player of the Year and three-time All-American graduated as Towson's all-time points leader, finishing his college career with 234 points off 154 goals and 80 assists.
 
Team USA's first game in the tournament will be on Tuesday, August 18 at 4:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. in Jamaica) against Puerto Rico.  Team USA is competing in Pool A, which contains Colombia, Jamaica and Puerto Rico.  Pool B includes Argentina, Canada, the Haudenosaunee, Mexico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
