TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team is set to close out its three game home stand this weekend. The Tigers will host Fairfield for the first time as Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) opposition on Friday at 3 p.m. before staying home on Sunday for a noon contest against Maine.
 
The Tigers enter the fifth week of the regular season after going 1-1 this past weekend to move to 3-5 overall and 0-1 in CAA play. On Friday against #19 Monmouth Towson held the Hawks to its second lowest scoring output of the season before falling in overtime. On Sunday Towson defeated Penn 4-3 for its first win against an Ivy League opponent since 2011.
 
Delfina Larripa was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a hat trick and totaling seven points against the Quakers. Larripa is the first Towson CAA Offensive Player of the Week since Lexi Bove in September of 2024. The graduate transfer is the second Tiger to win a weekly award this season after Lydia Bennett earned Defensive Player of the Week honors on September 7.
 
Goalie Riley Redding made 19 saves over the weekend starting with eight against Monmouth before making 11 against Penn to close out the weekend. Both were single game career highs for the redshirt-sophomore. Rookie back Stevie Schultz scored her first career goal against the Quakers, Schultz has started every game for the Tigers as a freshman.
 
Scouting the Opponents:
The Fairfield Stags are 3-4 overall in 2026 and are 0-1 in CAA play after a 2-1 loss to Drexel last week. The Stags only have one loss of more than one goal and no losses of more than two goals. Kylie Corcoran leads the way for Fairfield with five goals and twelve points.
 
The Maine Black Bears are 4-3 so far this season and enter the weekend off a pair of wins over Boston University and Dartmouth last weekend. Martha Barratt's five points lead the way for Maine and Annabel Halkes has allowed only 1.69 goals per game in six starts in goal.
