TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming and diving teams lost to Delaware to begin the 2026-27 season. The Tiger women saw Addie Scott best her gold medal time from the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association Championships in the 200 free as part of a three-win day, while the Towson men swept the breaststroke events. But the Blue Hens would earn a sweep with a men's final of 177.5-122.5 and a women's final of 193-107.
 
Men's Key Moments:

• The team of Bill McMinn, Jed Garner, Benjamin Eischeid and Isak Brkanovic started the men's swimming strong with a win in the 200 medley relay.
• Christian Davidson won the 1000 free 16 seconds ahead of second place at 9:21.89.
• Jed Garner started his season with wins in the 100 breast and 200 IM.
• Isak Brkanovic got the win in the 50 free for Towson at 20.31.
• Harry Herrera started his season with a win in the 200 breast.
• Grady Gardner was the Tigers top diver placing fourth on both boards.

 
Women's Key Moments:

• Addie Scott swam a personal best 1:46.91 in the 200 free pushing her to fourth in school history in the event, the senior won the 100 free and 500 free as well. Scott now sits fourth in Towson history in the 200 freestyle.
• Bjartey Gudmundsdottir got in the win column as well with a 23.70 in the 50 free.
• Maisie Brown marked her collegiate debut with a win in the 200 breast.
• The team of Emelia Erikson, Scott, Ryland Zuniga and Gudmundsdottir ended the meet strong with a win in the 400 free relay.
• Lara Booth Alam was the best Tiger diver on the day, the junior placed third on the three meter board and fourth on the one meter.

The Tigers are back in action Friday, September 2 for home dual meet against Georgetown. The meet with start with swimming at 3 p.m. before a 6 p.m. start for diving. Admission to the public is free of charge.
