TOWSON, Md. – Towson University women's soccer earned two Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week awards, the conference announced on Monday. Sophie Thibeault was named Offensive Player of the Week while Teagan Gardner was named Defensive Player of the Week.

This is Thibeault's second CAA Offensive Player of the Week award, having earned to award on Oct. 7, 2024. This week Thibeault led the conference in shots, goals and points. She accumulated five points on two goals and one assist with 10 shots. Thibeault scored the opening goal and game winner against William & Mary. She assisted the opening goal of the 3-1 win over Hampton and sealed the match with an 80th minute goal to give Towson the 3-1 victory.

Garnder earned her second CAA Defensive Player of the Week of the season on Aug. 31 after a clean sheet against Delaware. This week Gardner opened the week with a clean sheet against William & Mary before minding the net in the Towson victory over Hampton. Gardner was the only goalkeeper to win both of her matches this season.

The Tigers have won all three weekly awards this season with Jayla Caldwell taking Rookie of the Week on Sept. 7. Towson is one of two teams to accomplish that feat this year.

The Tigers return home to face Stony Brook on Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. for the CAA home opener.
