TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team is set for its first two home games of the 2026 regular season. The Tigers will host Georgetown on Friday, September 4 at 2 p.m. before closing out the weekend with a noon match up on Sunday, September 6 against Rider. Friday's game will be streamed live on FloCollege, live stats for both games can be found on the Towson Tigers website.
 
Friday's game against Georgetown falls on National Food Bank Day, Towson field hockey will be holding a food drive at the game with TU FoodShare. Attending fans are invited to bring items from the most needed list and all fans are invited to donate to the Student Emergency and Food Insecurity Fund.
 
The Tigers enter the second week of the regular season off a pair of losses to App State and Davidson on opening weekend. Towson entered overtime with the Mountaineers with a 7-3 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corners. The Tigers created seven corners against Davidson compared to only four from the hosts and only took two less shots (10-12) than the Wildcats.
 
Eight different Tigers registered a shot on goal over the first two games including three new transfers in Delfina Larripa, Josefina Sayal Aguirre, and Ella Jefferson. Riley Redding made three saves in each of her first two career starts in goal. Rookies Stevie Schultz, Else Wismans and Olivia Thunnissen all made at least one start in their first two collegiate appearances.
 
Scouting the Opponents:
The Georgetown Hoyas are 1-1 after opening weekend with a 2-1 win over Davidson and a 1-2 overtime loss to Appalachian State. Five Hoyas produced two points through the first two games and Alex Duff has 13 saves through two full starts.
 
The Rider Broncos are 0-2 through two contests after a 1-2 loss to Hofstra followed by a 1-4 defeat to Colgate. Emma Bonshak leads the way for Rider with three points through two games and Jade Renart has made 19 saves in a pair of starts.
