Jack Saunderson impressed at the 2016 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Swimming & Diving Championships last week, earning 36 points to help the Tigers finish in 3rd-place (355 points). Saunderson's 36 points tied with teammate Will Dougherty for the most by a freshman in the four-day conference meet.

He was named the CAA champion in the 200-yard butterfly with a conference meet record time of 1:45.02. He also set the school record and freshman record and earned an NCAA-B Cut with that time.

Saunderson won the bronze medal in the 100-yard butterfly (NCAA-B Cut 48.03). His preliminary time of 47.60 set both a school record and freshman record. Saunderson set the freshman school record for the event three times throughout the season.

He swam the third-leg on the 200-yard medley relay that finished in second-place with a time of 1:29.68. He also swam the third-leg on the 400-yard medley relay that placed second with a school record time of 3:16.48. In addition, he swam on the 200-yard freestyle relay (5th, 1:22.91).
