Nukiya Mayo led the Towson University women's basketball team to victory over Loyola (Md.) last Tuesday with a team-high 15 points and seven rebounds. The Bronx, New York native was selected to the Preseason All-CAA Second Team and has been a contributor for the Tigers this season, averaging a team-best 6.4 rebounds per game. Against the Greyhounds, Mayo was key in sealing the win with late free throws and drawing two fouls with less than 40 seconds to play. Mayo shot 36.3 percent from the field and 58.3 percent from the line on Tuesday, scoring 11 points in the second half to push to victory.
