Israel got her season off to a strong start and helped the Tigers win the Towson Invitational in the process. The sophomore crossed the line in 15:31.09 and won the 4,000 meter race. She finished nearly 13 seconds in front of the second place finisher (teammate Emily Johnson). Israel's strong performance allowed the Tigers to take the top five spots in the race and seven of the top 10.
