VESTAL, N.Y. - Missy Rohrbaugh had a team-high 13 digs but it was not enough as Cornell defeated the Tigers 3-0 on Saturday morning in the Binghamton Volleyball Classic. The Tigers (6-4) dropped their second straight and have one more match remaining in the tournament.
Cornell (2-3) grabbed the early lead with a 25-13 win in set one. The Big Red extended their advantage with a 25-20 win in the second set. Cornell clinched the match with a 25-20 win in the third set.
In addition to Rohrbaugh's digs, Evan Schulz had 12 assists for the Tigers. Shelynne Hoyt had seven kills while Alysha Fanning collected six kills, four digs and four block assists. Katee Luecke finished with nine assists while Rachel Gambow collected seven digs.
Cornell was led by Deveney Pula with 12 kills while Megan Mushovic finished with 14 digs. Jordan Reeder had 33 assists and seven digs for the Big Red.
Towson rounds out play in the Binghamton Classic with a match against Fairleigh-Dickinson later this afternoon.
