TOWSON, Md. - The Tigers placed five players on the Colonial Athletic Association's 25th Anniversary team for Softball. Named to the squad were Jeanne Bosch, Brooke Clyde, Katie Mumbauer, Nina Navarro and Jessica Wides.
Bosch played for the Tigers between 2002 and 2005 and earned first team All-CAA honors as a junior and senior. She was a four-year starter in centerfield who led the Tigers to a four-year record of 140-93-1. Bosch led the Tigers to a runner-up finish in the CAA Tournament in three of her four seasons and earned a spot on the CAA All-Tournament team in each of her final two seasons. She was an outstanding fielder who finished her career with a .974 fielding percentage while making just two errors as a junior and a senior. Bosch hit over .300 in each of her final two seasons and her 40 career doubles are tied for fourth in school history.
Clyde, who has the first ever CAA Player of the Year in 2002 played for the Tigers between 1999 and 2002. She was a first team All-CAA selection as a senior after batting .308 with six home runs and 37 RBIs. Clyde, who played just one season in the CAA, also earned all-conference honors in the America East during her Tiger career. She set the school record for games played with 235 and finished her career with the school records for at bats (722), runs scored (139), doubles (46) and runs batted in (113).
Mumbauer was a four-year starter at shortstop for the Tigers from 2002 to 2005. She helped the team post a 140-93-1 record during that stretch and the team finish as CAA runners-up in three of the four years. Mumbauer earned All-CAA honors and a spot on the CAA All-Tournament team all four years. She set the Towson single season record for total bases (99) as a junior. Mumbauer set the school's career record for runs scored (140), stolen bases (62-for-68) and walks (110).
Navarro manned the outfield for the Tigers from 2005 to 2008. She was a first team All-CAA selection as a sophomore and senior after batting over .300 in each of those seasons. Navarro led the Tigers to a 37-26 record as a senior and a berth in the CAA Tournament. She finished her career with a .297 batting average and is one of only two players in school history with at least 100 run scored and 100 runs batted in. Navarro ranks third in school history with 117 runs scored and her 100 RBI's are the fifth highest total in school history.
The CAA Pitcher of the Year in 2003, Wides was a member of the Tigers from 2002 to 2005. Wides earned All-CAA honors as a sophomore and a senior. During her sophomore season she led the CAA with 15 wins, a 1.31 ERA and seven shutouts. Also that season she had 192 innings pitched and 147 strikeouts to lead the conference in both categories. Wides hurled a no-hitter against San Jose State in 2003 and also that year pitched a complete game 20-inning shutout against Drexel. She set a school record by pitching 34 consecutive scoreless innings. When she finished her career Wides held the school record for career games pitched (114), shutouts (15), victories (48), strikeouts (434) and saves (8).
