Five Tigers Named to CSC Academic All-District® Squad

TOWSON, Md. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced its Academic All-District® team for the 2026 softball season. Isabella Canesi, Mackenzie Gorczyca, Amanda Medina, Alyssa Myint and Olivia Trombley were all honored for their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom for the 2026 season.
 
The 2026 CSC Academic All-District® Softball Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic nomination criteria require honorees to have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or greater and be at least a sophomore in academic standing. Athletically, student-athletes must compete in 90% or more of the institution's games or start in at least 66% of them. Pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances on the mound or pitched at least 35.0 innings.
 
Isabella Canesi was a regular starter in the outfield for the third straight season for the Tigers as she ended her Towson career totaling 181 appearances and 143 starts. The senior set single season career highs in homeruns (8), RBIs (25) and slugging percentage (.447) in 2026 and had at least five outfield assists for the second straight season. Canesi is graduating with a degree in Communication Studies.
 
After being named CAA All-Rookie last season, Mackenzie Gorczyca played 50 games as a sophomore and batted .312 with 48 hits and 23 RBIs while stealing six bases. Gorczyca was top three amongst the Tigers in hits, triples, runs scored, and batting average while leading the team in stolen bases. Gorczyca is a double major in Exercise Science and Biology.
 
Amanda Medina made at least 26 appearances on the mound for the third straight season and made at least 18 starts and pitched at least 85.0 innings for the second straight season. The sophomore hit the 50-strikeout mark for the second straight season and struck out the 100th batter of her career against Mount Saint Mary's on March 11th. Medina is majoring in Chemistry.
 
Alyssa Myint enjoyed the best season of her Towson career in 2026 batting .310 with single season career highs in hits (49), extra base hits (19), homeruns (4), RBIs (30), and OPS (.855) while bringing her started games streak with the Tigers to 102, all at shortstop. The senior recorded her 100th career hit against Charleston on May 1. Myint was named the CAA Player of the Week after a 10-hit series against Charleston and is graduating with a degree in Sport Management.
 
Olivia Trombley had a breakout season in her sophomore campaign pitching to a 3.16 ERA in 104.0 innings over 19 appearances and 18 starts on the mound. Trombley led all Tiger pitchers with 70 strikeouts and recorded the 100th of her career on March 13th against Drexel. The sophomore was twice named CAA Pitcher of the Week, once in February after taking a no-hitter into the 8th against East Carolina and again in March after compiling 19 strikeouts in 13.0 innings in a pair of starts against UMass Lowell and Central Connecticut State. Trombley is majoring in Exercise Science.
