Shanae Baker-Brice Named CAA Co-Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - After leading the Tigers to a pair of victories including a win over defending champion Drexel, Shanae Baker-Brice was named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week by league officials.

Baker-Brice, who shares the honors with Kita Waller of VCU, earns player of the week honors for the second time this season and fourth time in her career.

Baker-Brice averaged 20.5 points per game during the week for the Tigers. She started the week with a strong performance in the win over Drexel, who entered that game tied for first in the CAA. The win over Drexel also snapped a three-game losing streak for the Tigers. In the game, Baker-Brice posted 12 points and 10 rebounds for the second "double-double" of her career. She would also add five assists and two steals in the contest. On Monday against Northeastern, Baker-Brice exploded for 29 points in the game, including a 14-for-19 performance from the foul line. It was her first 20+ point performance since January 14 and 10th 20+ performance of the season. She would also add three rebounds, four assists and one steal against the Huskies.

Baker-Brice finished the week averaging 20.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game. She also posted nine assists and three steals. For the season, Baker-Brice is averaging 18.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. She has a team best 94 assists and 50 steals.

Baker-Brice and the Tigers return to action on Thursday, February 11. The Tigers will host Georgia State at 7 p.m.
