Tigers Fall Against Loyola

HARRISONBURG, Va. - Junior Zac Jelinek earned a first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, but the Tigers were unable to earn their first win of the season and dropped a 208-70 non-conference decision against Loyola University Maryland in a non-conference dual meet held at James Madison University on Saturday afternoon.

Jelinek finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.61 while junior Wesley Foltz followed in second place with a time of 1:46.11. Jelinek also placed second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:54.79.

Junior Jim Buck placed third in the 1000-yard freestyle by turning in a time of 10:11.02 while sophomore Joe Mills finished second in the 100-yard backstroke by completing the event in 55.92 seconds.

Freshman Jacob Huston also turned in a second place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.84 seconds while sophomore Zack Stone was third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:00.14.

Freshman Jack Nally recorded a time of 49.94 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle to place second while sophomore Colin Bond was third in the 200-yard backstroke by touching the wall in 2:05.56. Sophomore Ian Zelaya had a third place effort in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:19.68.

Freshman Billy Pappas had a third place effort in the 100-yard butterfly (:57.23) while Foltz added a second place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:59.74.

The Tigers will wrap up the regular season next week with two meets beginning on Friday afternoon at Johns Hopkins.
